ALEXANDER WANG
Designer Alexander Wang is one of the most iconic personalities in the fashion world. At the age of 15 the future designer was already studying at Central Saint Martins College in London and
when he turned 18 Alexander entered the Parsons School of Design in New York. The first success was
brought to him by the line of cashmere runisex sweaters - they became so popular that other eminent
designers drew attention to the young talent, offering him cooperation. However, Wang chose to
develop his own brand, which he opened in 2005. The first collection of 2007 is remembered for its
unmistakable relaxed down-town street aesthetics - the perfect metropolitan lifestyle with a touch of
sporty chic.
In 2012 Alexander Wang became the creative director of BALENCIAGA and oversaw the lines of men's
and women's clothing and accessories. After three years he left the post deciding to focus on working in
his own brand. It is known that the favorite color of the designer is black: “it suits all occasions”.
Alexander Wang has received numerous professional awards and was named one of the 100 Most
Influential Persons in the Fashion Industry in 2017. The modern collections of ALEXANDER WANG are
also inspired by street culture - they are characterized by a restrained cut, a calm palette and a constant
focus on the inhabitants of megacities: the so-called urban luxury that has been relevant over the past
decade.
