In 1851 a swiss Karl Franz Bally founded the eponymous company, which derived from his family’s business manufacturing suspenders and elastic ribbons. Initially all footwear used to be produced manually by the local craftsmen. However, the steeply increased demand converted the manufacture into a factory – it is the BALLY company that was the first to introduce the machinery into the shoe production.

Within almost 10 years the company’s turnover reached 1 million swiss francs, the company survived the crisis of the 30’s and the two world wars. ‘BALLY’ has turned into a company exclusively producing the elite footwear.
