The young footwear designer Sergio Rossi is a hereditary shoemaker. In 1964 he went to work in Milan and in a few years moved to bologna, where opened his first shop. The success of the new shoe designs by Sergio Rossi was incredible. In the beginning of the 70's Sergio Rossi was noticed by Gianni Versace, who had already created his first collection by the time. Their cooperation had lasted for more than 10 years and brought Sergio Rossi the global recognition.

In fact, the brand 'SERGIO ROSSI' as such was established in the beginning of the 80's. The company expanded its influence in the international market and was offering the customers the original shoe models, radically different from the other brands' designs: bright colourings, fancy heel shapes and high heel ankle boots. The demand for Sergio Rossi designs was so great that the entire collection had been totally sold out within 2 hours after the opening of his boutique in New York. In 1989 Sergio Rossi signed the contract with Dolce & Gabbana. 10 years of collaboration brought into the fashion world the shoe designs with encrusted heels. Soon there came the collections of the famous crystal pumps. Nowadays Sergio Rossi is a member of the 'pinault-printemps-redoute' group. In 2008 Francesco Russo was appointed the creative director of the brand and since then apart from women's and men's footwear the collection by 'SERGIO ROSSI' has comprised the selection of fashionable and exquisite accessories.
